Planview & 3d view of UG tools translated in.

N/A

Is there anything that can be done to make the tools we translated look any cleaner?
Without the top view option like we had with the way we used to bring in the .jt
files, our tools now have all the substructure & other items visible which clutter
up the plan view of the tool. Also I noticed there isn't any option to make the
"3d" color bylayer. When I have to do a phasing layout I need the elevations to
match the plan view color. (Really according to the standards I'm supposed to follow
all my objects should be the same color in 3d that they are in the plan view.)
Thanks,

You should be good to go if you are using the "Generic Tool" feature of
FactoryCAD. As you import the JT, you should be able to choose the different
views that need to be generated (FactoryCAD uses an outline sketch
mechanism) that are relatively clutter-free. Of course, this capability is
only there in the "Generic Tool".
Anyone else has anything to add?

Hi Shree,
To decrease file size the customer no longer wants us to bring tools in that way.
That's why I was hoping for something similar when importing via the XML pulldown.

Mark,
I think if you use the "Include Planview Outline" option when you read a
file in to XML you will get the simplified top view that you are looking
for.
