Returning a Borrowed License Early

[ Edited ]

How I can return borrowed license before borrowed time expired? When I try return license using window interface I have information:

The license files (or license server system network addresses) attempted are

listed below.  Use LM_LICENSE_FILE to use a different license file,

or contact your software provider for a license file.

Feature:       prd_em_weld

Filename:      C:\flexlm\license.dat

Re: Returning a Borrowed License Early

you can try the following:

1. open a command shell and navigate to the folder containing "lmutil.exe"

2. run this command (change yourHost... with your host name)

lmutil lmstat –c 28000@yourHostwithLic –f prd_em_workplace_nt

3. as a result you will get a line with the following:

yourUser yourHostname yourUser0.0 <V12.0> ..... etc.....

=> yourUser0.0 is the display name.

4.  enter the display name in the "optional" field of LMTOOLS " -> Borrowing tab.

You can also use the "Siemens PLM Software Licensing Tool" to return your borrowed licenses.return.jpg

It doesn't help at all. License which I try return is boorowed for Tecnomatix 11.1. Using boorrow tools from version 13 (LicensingTool.exe - which I just copy to computer) I was able to return licenses only for spot and continuous. When I use lmutil commands I receive results:

<C:\Program Files\License>lmutil> lmborrow -return -c 28000@ prd_em_workplace_nt

lmutil - Copyright (c) 1989-2015 Flexera Software LLC. All Rights Reserved.
lmborrow: Error, borrowed license doesn't match any known server license. (-128,595)

Used Versions:

Server version: Siemens PLM License Server

lmutil version:

Instead of "prd_em_workplace_nt" you can use any other product you already borrowed.

To run this command is only necessary to get the "Display Name".

If you are the only one who borrowed licenses, you can try to use <YourUser>0.0

So just enter your username in "Display Name" field and add "0.0" after your user name.

Best regards

The exact syntax of the command which works is:

lmutil lmborrow -return -c <PORT@SERVER> -d <display name>0.0 <feature>

<display name> - it's computer name

Thank You
