how to combine psz files?

Hello!

I would like to know how to combine multiple .psz files into one .psz file in process simulation software.

Please clear my doubts if anyone knows it.

Thanks,

S S

Hi!

I got the information from Nikolai Hristov that there is some support for this.

There are however some known limitations, please read below:

***

There is one way, although it was not designed exactly for this.

It cannot merge operations. Only parts, mfgs, resources and engineering data.

It is with the help of the .pszx file format.

The best match in the PS help is at the bottom of the following topic: eMServer - Process Simulate Disconnected Workflow.

URL: https://docs.plm.automation.siemens.com/tdoc/tecnomatix/13.1/tecnomatix_eMS#uid:id1376310852555

If one want to get data from PSZ1 and add/update it into PSZ2, here is the workflow:

  1. Open PSZ1 with PS Disconnected;
  2. Run  the Save As command and choose Study and All Components (*.pszx);
  3. Open PSZ2 with PS Disconnected;
  4. Run the Import pszx to Current Study command and select the .pszx file created in step 2.

This command may not be in the menus/ribbon by default. One should look for it and add it as needed.

I just tried this myself and in my test I had issues with human models.

After importing they would show up only as "dummy .jt human representations".

The issue was resolved after saving / reloading the study.

On a related note from version 14.1.2 we are adding a new TSB simulation import/export functionality.

Since the current import .pszx functionality does not bring over operations

-> this may be of interest to you.

Best regards,

Pelle

Hi Pella,

Thank you so much for your reply. I tried as you mentioned. But it would be grateful at least if we can able to import the mfgs, components (Libraries) in the same position into the new psz file. is it possible?

Thank you,

S S

Hi again Sundara,

Hmm - in my basic testing the locations were preserved ok.

All components from the study I imported appear at the expected location in the new study.

I also checked with Nikolai from the "backbone team"

- The locations should be preserved.

If it does not work for you, are you able to share somre more information.

Which version are you using?

Are you able to share both the source and target .pszx files?

Best regards,

Pelle

Hi again,

Please see the simple video showing the steps I perform:

(view in My Videos)

If it still doesn't work for you - can you share a video showing the steps you perform and the issue you see?

Best regards,

Pelle
