With NX 9 for Design, you can edit 2D geometry with unprecedented speed and ease. Synchronous technology has been extended to enable fast, intuitive editing of 2D profiles.
Don't take my word for it, see what Lifecycle Insights has to say about this technology in their Product Review.
I think I can understand why the users were not so impressed with 2D Sync. From the description in the article this is really not much different from the NX ability to import/add 2D geometry into a sketch wothout having to use constraints. NX has had this capabilities since around NX5ish.
If this is different, then maybe the focus should be on differences and not on what is almost "new".
All that I can say, is you should take a look at it. it's really nice functionality.
Users can select "dumb" 2D geometry that they want to modify, NX finds the relationships, and we maintain those relations when you modify the geometry.
I'm working with one of our guys and we'll be posting a demo video soon.
