someone know a workaround to assign the correct crosshatch when assign material to part ?
When I create a section view in drawing the crosshatch is always 'Iron' independent if the part is aluminum or rubber.
When I create section view in drawing for assembly the problem is more visible.
Another question ....it's possible to assign a different crosshatch value for weld feature, so when I create section view, sectioned weld are with a crosshatch like was filled ?
If you're using the Material library, the cross hatch pattern is defined by the material so should be OK. Example below:
Library Material : Aluminum_2014
Library Reference physicalmateriallibrary.xml
Category : METAL
Sub-Category : Aluminum Alloy
Mass Density (RHO) : 2.794e-06kg/mm³
Crosshatch Pattern : Aluminum/Magnesium
If you have your own material defined, check the Visual Properties in the Miscellaneous section .
after assigned the material with this new modification, the section view in drawing remain represented with 'iron' crosshatch. This solution works on PMI 3D section, not on drawing.
Reply to question 1: In the view Settings > Section > Settings > turn off 'Process Hidden Crosshatch', now try to edit the Crosshatch by double clickling the available crosshatch.
Reply to question 2: Menu > Insert > Annotation > Crosshatch
As far as I know there no automatic inheritance of crosshatch in Drafting for the applied material.
.chx files present in UGII_UTIL directory will appear in Drafting
