Is it possible to assign material to part without solid body?

There are some cases when we have parts which dont have solid body and we need to have material attribute for them seems like GLUE or MASTIC.

The Assign Material option in NX assign material for part with solid body only

You can assign a material to a sheet body, will that not help?

Failing that create a body and hide it or put it on a non-displayed layer maybe?

If you use a solid body assign there the material to and the exclude it from a reference set So the solid wont be on the drawing.

Would using a solid (vs. a sheet) affect assembly weight calculations?

Can the "Material" or "NX_Material" (depending on NX version) attribute be written, without a body to assign it to?  maybe via a program of some sort?

What if you go with @ruud_vandenbrand's suggestion?

One other way could be, Just add a simple block > Assign Material > Delete the block with "Delete Body" command. There will be no solid body in the part, weight will be zero and material attribute will remain.

Did you use 'Delete Body' command or simply Delete?
