Break dimension tolerance

Hi,

as you can see in the image, the tolerance dimension is overlap by an extension line dimension. It's present a setting that break also the extension line if overlap a dimension ?

Yes, you can apply a "Break" setting to 32 dimension so that its extension line will automatically add a break where other dimensions overlap it.  To add the break, do this:

  • Double-click the 32 dimension to start the edit mode.
  • In the dialog box, in the Settings group, click the Settings button.
  • In the Settings dialog box, selec the Line/Arrow-->Break node.
  • Set the Create Breaks option. You may have to change the Break Size if the break is not wide enough to clear the overlapping dimension.
  • Close both dialog boxes to see the break.  You should see something like this:

Hi Deck,

the 32 dimension has the 'break' setting too and if I change the 'break size', this is calculated on the extension line of the other dimension and the brak become indecent.

So are you saything that there is a break applied to both dimensions? Or that the break size has to be so large that it is not acceptable?

You can control the application of the break setting on individual dimensions (that is, remove the break setting on one or the other dimension). But there is no way to control how the size, or "gap", is applied when the break is added to the dimension. Unfortunately, that is an enhancement request.

Deck,

the 'break' is a setting that is applied to each dimensions, but this 'break' functionality added from NX9, works only on extension line and not on text or tolerance of the dimension that is over by an extension line.

I will add and ER.

I would like that break works like other CAD and like the NX functionality when dimension is inside a crosshatch.

Thank you...
