CONVERSION: feature <> featureless, sketch <> non-sketch

1. I often convert a curve feature to a non-timestamp curve with Offset Curve (3D Axial, distance=0, associative disabled).

  • Is it possible to reverse this conversion, e.g. converting a non-timestamp spline to a spline feature?

2. I often add non-sketch curve to a sketch with Add Existing Curves.

  • Is it possible to reverse this addion, e.g. moving a spline out a sketch and making it a independent spline feature?

Thanks!

Ciao @surfactant,

I remove parameter of any features, even though they are curves, by coping to layer.

Yes you can convert a non-timestamp spline in a timestamp spline.

Ciao

Not that I am implying there is any issues with the above methods...but....

Edit -> Feature -> Remove Parameters can be used and won't result in any duplicate geometry and works with anything that is associative/parametric whether it's a curve, datum or type of body. The icon for this command can be added to the popup shortcut toolbars that appear for all features so this can be done without moving the mouse outside of the graphics window. The downside is that once it's done, the only way to revert is via Undo, and I assume why some prefer to copy.

As usual, there's always more than one way to achieve the same basic results in NX.
