CUSTOM SYMBOLS

Pioneer

I am setting up drawing templates to go to NX10.0 and in the title block we have a line that says denotes critical characteristic and a sybol for that infront of the comment. I would like to be able to create a custom symbol that I can use as a critical characteristic symbol to put infront of this line.

Can anyone tell me how to create a custom symbol that I can add to my drawing template.

Set in the customer defaults->gateway->reuselibrary->symbol library the location of the custom symbol library
If you don't set this it will place the create symbols in your part library.

then create a note.
go to the tab drafting tools. use the feature "define"
follow the steps of the dialog to create your own custom symbol.

I have the Customer Defaults set to my symbols library folder but when I try to Define a symbol, the "Define Custom Symbol" dialogue box opens and under the Custom Symbol Library there is only Part Library.

I would expect to see the folder that I set in the customer defaults.

here are the steps:

  1. create local folder like C:\Library\Symbol\note
  2. set customer default go to gateway->Reuse Library->tab 'symbols library'
    1. set here in native NX Customer symbols|C:\Lib\Symbol (make sure that you don't set the note folder, if you set the note folder then in custom symbols it won't show)
  3. click apply or OK and restart NX (pop up shows also that all settings will be in use after restart)
  4. open a template in drafting
  5. create note
  6. use define to create a custom symbol here is customer folder visible.
