Clipped view sectioning performance

Valued Contributor

Hi all,

These last months I've encountered a very big slow down regarding the Edit Section menu in the modelling environment. Is there any setting I can adjust in order to improve the performance?

The big problem is the lag when dragging and moving the handles that define the view plane.

It happens only in middle size and big assemblies.

Thank you!

Best regards,

MSV

Is there a "Preview" option you could turn off?

There is the "Show Section Curves Preview" option but it does not improve performance...
Thanks

What are the your load options? You could be loading more data than you need.

Please check your visualization preferences.  Go to faceting.  What are these settings set to?

You could probably get some  better performance from turning these setting up a bit.  But your graphics will be more jagged.

Just  a thought?

Hi,
Thanks for your answers, I'll try to play a little bit with those.
For the moment the settings are the following:

You might also want to try:

1) If you also have Intel graphics chip, disable it completely (if performance the same, then re-enable it)

2) Settings in File -> Preferences -> Visualization Performance

Why are you not using Lightweight representations?

Idk, it was the company's default configuration and I never tried to use it.
Activating it improves the performance when editing the section plane. It is still quite slow when going through the components with complex geometry.
Thanks
