Does anyone know if there is a setting to deactivate the auto creation of thread cut lines (Geman: Gewindeanschnitt) in NX?
When creating a thread hole, these lines will automatically be displayed in a section view. We want to deactivate these lines by default for specific drawings.
Default representation in NX:
Comparison: Solid Edge will not display these lines by default:

I couldn't find an option to show/hide the thread runout in NX, but after much searching I did find the following regarding the representation - Drafting conventions associated with threads:
"Note. the line at 30° indicating the runout was the practice in BS 308:1972. However, in 1984 the revised standard permitted the line to be omitted if there was no functional need."
If it's important for you to remove them, you can view dependently erase them.
More importantly, if you can site a standard, then that would be a legitimate basis for an ER.
Thanks @mike_fdo. I spend considerable time scouring the internet for something concrete - the closest thing I found was the information I provided above, and the following:
It could have be coincidental, but whenever I my search string included "ANSI", the thread runout was not shown and when searching ISO it was.
@mike_fdo, what standard or publication did the scan come from? The "cf." in the note at the top of the page is directing the reader to compare what is shown to DIN 406-11 and DIN ISO 6410-1, which implies that the scan is from neither of those standards.
at first, let me thank you for all the information.
We also got the information from one of our customers, that the thread cut lines may be omitted. They need this in order to get a clearer representation of some of their drawings.
Looks like there really is no setting yet, so I think we will raise an ER for this.
