Here is another problem I ran into: I have created an “Attribute Template” associated to the part File. It is available in Part Properties as expected. Now I would like to delete this attribute again using the “Delete” Function in the Properties dialogue “Attributes – traditional view”. All attempts failed so far. There is a note in the Information section saying: “This attribute is referenced by another object and holds a hidden cached value”.
In order find our which object this could be I deleted all contents (model + drawings) of my part. Now it is complete empty and I still can’t delete the attribute nor can I delete the related template. If I try to delete the template I get this message: “Cannot delete template because it is being used”.
The only reference I have found is a concealed expression (only visible in “Expression” – “List All”) related to this attribute.
Now how do I get rid of the attribute + the related attribute template ? Thank you for your comments!

Hi @KF-Mz ,
Please find video below. You'll need to delete Title and value of attribute and when value is "<No Value>" in Value column. Delete it from Attribute Template dialog box.
Now it is complete empty and I still can’t delete the attribute nor can I delete the related template.
Can you use "Save As" to create a copy of the part at this state and upload it to the forum so we can inspect it?
Thank you for this detailed video! I followed your instructions several times but without success. Though I found the Attributes also in Assembly Navigator (thanks to your demo) I still couldn’t eliminate the Attribute Template. I managed to have <No Value> in both occurrences (part properties and assembly properties) but that didn’t help. I don’t quite understand why I should delete the Title/Alias. Though I erase the Title like you demonstrated it keeps reappearing whenever I reenter the property dialogue.
Could there still be another hidden object associated with the attribute?
I would like to follow Ben’s suggestion, but I don’t see where and how an upload can be done.
Thank you again for your efforts.
Hi @KF-Mz ,
Just go to Tools -> Expressions and delete attribute related expression and then delete it from Attribute Template. I was able to delete it.
As that attribute value entry was in expressions dialog, that was the reason you were unable to delete attribute.
Also find part attached part after deleting attribute and video .
Yeah, like expression related to attribute was hidden, the line you had added got hidden from discussion. There are high chances of issue being resolved when part file is provided with post. I also learned about attribute template due to your post.
