Dock Layer Settings

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to dock the Layer Settings in NX.
I often work with more bodies or surfaces inside one model. Instead of hiding/unhiding stuff - I assign them to layers. It bugs me I have to turn on the layer settings each time I want to turn a layer on or off.

Could I dock the layer settings menu somewhere?
Is there a better way to handle this?

Thanks!

Yes..You can create a custom tab and add the commands that you use frequently.

CTRL+1, Click on + sign and provide the name to the new tab, I had used as 'My Tool'

There is no way to dock the Layer Settings dialog and have it permanently open whilst running other comamnds.  You can use the accelerator Ctrl+L to quickly start the Layer Settings command when you need it.

Hope that helps a little!

You could record a journal to turn on/off each layer you want to control and assign each of these to toolbar buttons.

However, its a bit cumbersome, especially if you want to control a lot of the layers this way.

Even thought you cannot leave it turned on, the hot key CTRL-L is avaialbe as well as adding it the ribbon bar. There is one other option to get to command you need all the time, just add them to your MB3 View Popup. In this example I put it at the top of the list. This way you can quickly get to the menu and minimize mouse travel. On my view popup I add the Measure Distance command as well.

Or add it to a border bar (left/right/top/bottom)
