Drafting - starting with company template

Hi, we have company title block and border template files available for A0-A4 drawings.  I would like to use these instead of the Siemens drafting title block as the default.  They exist as .prt files probably created in older versions.  How do use them in NX11?  I am nearly a newbie, mostly just a hack, at CAD in general, so 2nd-grader explanation would be nice.

Thanks,

Hi,
Lot's of way to do it..
First and simple would be to replace the original file's from the NX folder with your file's.
If my memory is good... program/siemens/nx11.0/ugii/template
Or if you have a server edit the template.pax file so it locate your template on the server has well has the NX default.

I tried replacing the files, it seemed angry with me that I did that.

Also tried editing the .pax file but that didn't seem to take.  I opened the .pax file in NX, right-clicked on a drawing file, changed the file name to one of ours, and then did the same for the others.  But the next time I opened, it came up with the default again.

Have you tired to edit the pax file with NOte pad or Notepad++.  Then point to the current DWG file you want use.  Also make sure you are modifying the correct PAX file.

And you will need to restart NX after editing the pax file so NX will pick up your changes.

Even better if you do it when NX is closed to avoid rewrite
