Error opening .PRT. Memory access violation ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Seems I can only open:
+ Can't update the drawing on this model ?
It does look like the drawing is corruted.
2 options you could also have tried:
1) Open the drawing structure only, and save it again.
2) Do a part cleanup on the drawing and part file. This might solve any issues that are found.
Might help you the next time.
Was the flat pattern replaced, in the model? I've had issues where the flat pattern was deleted, and a new one created in the model, and then the drawing freaks out, because the data is now gone. I've had to open the drawing 'structure only', delete the flat pattern view, and then add the new flat pattern.
Might be related, may not.
Yep. That was the case.
Original Flat-Pattern was deleted.
It simply means, you open the drawing, but without loading the parts. So you are only loading the structure of the assembly (in case of a drawing, the top assy is the drawing, with a Part underneath it).
Check this box, on opening:
And it will load the drawing like this:
This will give you the oportunity to avoid the error, trow away the flat pattern, and now load the part again, and place the new flat pattern.
Hope this helps.
Any easy way to replace the Flat-Pattern so it refreshes/updates the old one without errors ?
When updating an flat pattern, all should go OK, automatically. Only in this case, it seems like you have deleted the existing flat pattern, and created a new one. On the drawing it's still looking for the "old" one, which no longer exists. And the new one is not on the drawing yet.
I hope this clarifies it a bit?
