I am trying to export a PDF with some Shaded Geometry in it, but the output file contains only wireframe geometry.
I am using the same settings as usually, and the same file was exporting properly some days ago. I can't figure out what is making my shaded views show as wireframe. The PRINT command also shows only wireframe.
The export settings are the following:
Exporting other drawings with different geometry works properly. Has this bug also happened to anybody?
The file I am trying to export is really heavy, is there a processing limit that stops NX from exporting shaded views?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Solved! Go to Solution.
We've had various issues with shaded views in pdf files. The main one for us is if the view borders overlap (just the borders, not the actual geometry in the view); in this case the geometry in one or both views will come out as wireframe. The drawing will look OK on the screen, but will not plot or export to pdf correctly.
You can predict the result by selecting 'File > Plot', expand the Actions block and choose Advanced Plot. On the Printer page you'll see an option at the bottom called 'CGM Viewer'. This will open a new dialog showing what will be sent to the printer/plotter/PDF.
@cowski1 could be on to something with the overlapping view borders. The other thread started by @guga50 reporting that a shaded view did not plot at 1:1 seems to be because the view borders extend beyond the drawing border. Once the view boundary was edited so the view boundary falls inside the drawing border, the PDF exported.
Finally I could export it properly. There has to be some misconfiguration/bug with the sheet.
I created a new sheet and copied all the views in it. Copying the whole sheet did not worked, but moving the views did.
Thanks for your help.
Anyone know how to solve the issue that cowski1 is referring to?
I am having the same issue. I have a section view in NX drafting but when I export to PDF, the pdf shows what appears to be geometry that was ommitted from the section view in NX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
