I am trying to export a PDF dataset that is already in TC out with a workflow. I want to add this to the end of a release workflow. Export the PDF to a specified folder on the network. I need help figuring out what Hanldlers to use and how to make this happen. I am trying to teach myself this workflow programming and am stumbling thru it. So I am going to ask a bunch of stupid questions, so bare with me. haha.
I do this with the EPM-run-external-command handler.
Since it still exists in Tc11.3, I have to assume that it still exists and works in later SPs of Tc10.1 including 10.1.7
If you want syntax examples, download my 2009 PLMWorld Conference slide deck at
I did follow your syntax, but still have no luck on the export.
When I checked syslog it says "No env vars found. Leaving original value" (attached syslog)
You're missing the most import agrument; the script you're going to input these files into. The handler requires a program to run to use your list of exported files as inputs.
You're also missing the parenthesis around (ItemRevision) for your target.
Yes, works fine in 2-tier now but having problem with 4-tier!
Folder \\WFIS1\TestDrwaings\DataExportLogs was shared to everyone!! Not sure if this works in 4-tier?
It works fine in 4 tier. I know because that's what we use too. If it works in 2 tier but not in 4tier, it's most likely a permission issue on the file share. Ensure that the service account running the service manager has the same access as the acccount you're using for 2 tier.
