Floating License Inquiry

Hi,

Our customer has a floating license.

we are planning to install the license server on their server which is 64 bit.

we will connect this license server in our workstation, but this work station is only 32 bit.

so in summary, we have a 32-bit NX version that will connect to a 64-bit license server.

will that cause a problem?

one more thing, another floating license.

for work station that has "NX 7.5 only", in its environmental Variables, UGS_LICENSE_SERVER which is for nx 7.5 (the setting should be UGS_LICENSE_SERVER=28000@HostnameWithUGSInstalled) is present, not SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER.

But what is installed in the server is the SPLM License Server v7.2 which should set to SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER=28000@HostnameWithSPLMInstalled

the second question is:

is it ok to set the environmental variables of my laptop which has UGS_LICENSE_SERVER to the hostname of my server which has the latest SPLM License server installed?

UGS_LICENSE_SERVER = 28000@HostnameWithSPLMInstalled

thanks for any advise!

Regards,

Jahnsen
