Formboard Drawing

Good evening all,

I'm wondering if it is possible to create a formboard drawing of a harness which hasn't had it's connectors, wires and pins defined and automatically routed.

I have experience fully defining the harness and creating the formboard which is fine but I'm keen to find out if it is possible by just defining the path (spline path) and stock.

I don't believe it is but wanted to ensure I wasn't missing something.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi @marknoyce,

From testing a simple case it does not appear that it is possible to create a formboard without wire data in the harness.  I was unable to create a formboard having applied circular stock to a spline path between two connectors:

Similarly, if you attempt to remove the connectors (move & disconnect) the wires are unrouted.

My guess is that you cannot do this.

Many thanks Ben.

It looks like we are getting the same results, I wasn’t sure if there was an environment variable I wasn’t aware of or something like that but I think it’s doubtful.

Many thanks.

The harness should be fully connected and connections should be routed otherwise you get message such as 'Selected harness is not fully connected' and /or

Selected harness do not contain any geometry
