I have a large grid pattern that I need to create. I know that creating this pattern in 3D is extrememly difficult so I'm attempting to use basic curves and Move Object > Copy.
The pattern is a circle that is 0.1mm dia, 0.5mm pitch and X/Y count of 1060. That's 1,123,600 circles total if you're couting. I'm able to do this but it takes 30-45 minutes.
Is there a way in NX to make this a little faster?
Do you need to actually draw all the circles or could you just do a sample in one corner and just do the perimeter?
Use the old 'Rectangular Array' on the Transformations dialog (see image).
You have to set the following variable with a value of 1
otherwise you'll have the cut down version of the dialog.
It also is non-associative.
It worked on my old workstation in about 3-4 minutes.
Mind you the part is slow to work with after that.
Does this command work in NX as an option to the new pattern command???
Is this an either/or or both option.
We use feature parameters in drafting, and changing all holes to the new pattern was not an option. 200-300 holes in a die shoe.
We would like an option to add a hole or 2, if necessary, and have the feature parameters pick up the correct hole count in drafting.
This is the 1st glimmer of hope for this happening.
