Horizontal wave links and Revision Rules ( Assembly load options)

Hi,

I have a query related to how revision rule impacts horizontal wave links.

 

Lets say we have Part 1 which has wave geometry from Part 2. 

Part 1 and Part 2 are *NOT* in assembly/component heirarchy but horizontal piece parts.

 

Consider the following scenarios:

 

1) If the Revision rule is "Latest working", then the geometry from the latest working revision of Part 2 will show up when Part 1 is loaded.

 

2) If the Revision rule is "Latest Issued" then the geometry from the last issued rev of Part 2 will show up when Part 1 is loaded.

 

Is the above understanding correct?

Part 1 (000111) has Revision A, Revision B (has status) and Revision C.

Part 2 (000112) has the geometry from Part 1 copied into it using "WAVE > Copy Geometry to Part".

 

I used OOTB (COTS) Revision Rules defined in Teamcenter.  I assumed your "Latest Issued" Revision Rule means one of your revisions has status (Released) and is a version of "Any Status; Working".

 

Latest Working:

Precise

Working( )

Has Status( Any Release Status, Configured Using Released Date )

 

Part 2 loads Part 1 rev C

 

Any Status; Working

Has Status( Any Release Status, Configured Using Released Date )

Working( )

 

Part 2 loads Part 1 rev B (which has status)

 

So yes, assuming that your "Latest Issued" revision rule is configured the same as "Any Status; Working" then your understanding is correct.  Let me know if you need me to test any other Revision Rules.
