How can I keep the constraints after use "Replcace component" function?

Creator

Dear,

I have a simple question. Now I have a assembly structure.

  • The part in assembly and the new replacement part both has same "Datum Coordinate system" location.
  • When I use "Replcace component" in assembly.
  • The new replacement part is found. But some error occured. "Component to replace is not a revision of replacement part"
  • If I still keep move forward. The replacement happened successfully. (The same location.)
  • But it losts its original assembly constraints. PS: I use the part "Datum Coordinate system" to lock the freedom of the original part.

Is there special set can help?

Best wishes!

Edward

You can try naming the objects that are used by the assembly constriants.

Try this: read tdoc

ok, thank you.

One simple question, I didn't see this "Settings" option in "Replacement component" dialog box.

5. In the settings group, ensure that the maintain relationships check box is selected.

How can I see it? I use TC to search replace component

You may not see this maintain relationships.  If you look in the upper left corner of your add component dialogue box, you will see an icon that looks like a gear,  click this icon and click "more" then you should see this maintain relationships.   For some reason NX does not like to show you all of the options in all of the boxes.  You have to do this  to get all of the options.
