How to control the Fonts, and their sizes, as used in the NX Ribbon interface and Dialogs...

[ Edited ]

After being asked about this issue privately, I thought that it would be of value to share my response with the rest of you.  The question involved changing the Font sizes used in the NX user interface:

Starting with NX 9.0 you can control most of the Fonts used in the NX interface using the normal Windows Personalization tools.  Just create a Custom Theme where you will have control over the Font and Size used as well as making it Bold which also helps significantly.  Now you may have to experiment a bit, but referring to the image below, to change the text in the Ribbon, select the word 'Normal' in the 'Active Window' item and then you can set the Font, Font Size, Color as well as toggling ON the Bold option.

Now to change  the text in the NX dialogs, select the words 'Message Text' and you will now have the same options as above only this will control the fonts used in the NX dialogs.

Anyway, play with this as it's really the only mechanism that we have to effect the appearance of the NX interface, other than the setting that we've provided under Preferences -> User Interface.

Hello John,

Thanks for your good information.

Only thing I wanted to ask you is, can we stop this appearance of the fonts in the message box to NX9 only rather than other applications like Team center etc?

Re: How to control the Fonts, and their sizes, as used in the NX Ribbon interface and Dialogs...

Hi folks,

Is there a way to control the standard font size used in the new NX11 Information window? For some reason, I'm getting an extreme tiny font...

Can't seem to find the setting in the customer defaults, or those Windows Settings mentioned above...

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I can now reply myself on this one. Just recently and by accident, I discovered that you can control the font size of the new HTML information window with CTRL+ and CTRL-. It will persist for the remaining of the session.

I still need to discover where to control the default setting, though.

Thank you randomness :-)

I know in IE (and other apps) <CTRL-mouse scroll wheel> will make the fonts larger/smaller

Is that not just zooming in & out rather than actually changing font size?

I know, visually there's not a difference, but if one were to copy/paste with formatting there might be quite a difference.

The mouse wheen action depends on the application - Notepad++ changes the font size

I'm only pretty sure this is HTML, so I guess the behaviour of CTRL+/CTRL- or mouse wheel is the same as a browser... Just a guess
