they invented many fancy stuff in NX10 but the productivity got worse because the coder don't need to use that programme.
One example is this dimension box. It always appears when I don't need it hiding big parts of my screen so that I cannot find a proper place to position my new dimension.
Is there a way to switch that box off while creating and placing a new dimensioin??
After I placed my dimension I want to make it appear, though.
If you press the F3 key the dimension box will be hidden, if you push it again the entire menu will hide and then if you press it again the menus will reappers. This works for all on screen menus not just in drafting and it is a good thing to know when need to hide the menus while placing or picking things.
This is a common question for GTAC.
You can contact GTAC and ask to be added to existing enhancement ER 7804353. This ER suggests that the secondary dialog be disabled by default and that a hotkey is assigned to make the secondary dialog appear on demand when required.
Similar ER's exist to disable, or dock, the coordinate dialog that displays when creating lines, or moving components. The F3 key works in all these cases to temporarily hide the dialog.
What happens when us old I-Deas user has the dynamic Fkeys option turned on.
UGII_FKEY_DYNAMICS = 1
Does the F3 key still work? Thanks
The F3-Button works. But it is still annoying having to press that button after you got that disturbance. And that for every dimension.
However, I've never contacted GTAC. I guess it is a developer team.
How to contact them ?
Maybe you know GTAC by the name Hotline, anyway here is the link
you can call or using the Create or Update an Incident Report (IR) option
When you move the cursor again the on-screen dialog will disappear. You can then place your dimension in the area where the dialog was displayed.
Something else to consider is the Pause Delay for On-Screen Dialog (default is 1, max is 5):
It's too bad that this is only available in Drafting.
