Hi,
i want to change a regular ellipse with expressions - therefore i create a sketch and use the ellipse curve tool.
Two different expressions for major and minor radius were applied.
(see picture)
When i click apply or ok those expressions turn into values which are no longer dependent on those initial expressions.
Is it possible to let the expressions control the curve permanently?
Regards
Marco

Hi @symbolinsight,
The functionality you're looking for is currently not possible and has been requested in ER 1773972.
You can control the ellipse using Sketch Dimensions, but they have to be defined after the ellipse has been created.

Thank you sir!

Hi Symbolinsight,
Ben is absolutely correct regarding that there are no direct way of dimensioning an ellipse inside a skecth. However if you constrain and dimension acc to the attached movie you will be able to do what you want.
I hope this helps

FYI,
How to fully constrain an ellipse in a sketch is documented in NX Help.

Hi Marco,
You can use Law Curve from Reuse Library -> Reusable Objects -> Metric -> Law Curves. In "Member Select" pane, double click "Ellipse" and place it. You can use expressiosns to derive its major and minor parameters. Please find attached image for reference.
Hope this will be helpful.
Thanks and Regards,
