Image in front(on top) of drawing ?

[ Edited ]

How to make an imported Image.jpg to appear in front(on top) of the drawing ?

  • Now it is by default on the back of drawing.
  • How to rotate/tilt the image like 10*degrees left inside NX ? Or do I need to change the imported image in MSpaint or so ?

Hi @12131444,

Can you mention what is your purpose/intent?

Why are you using a image?

Did you try to make a custom symbol of the image and place that in the drawing?
Custom symbols are easy to scale and rotate of needed.

Yes. I rotated image to 15* angle with GIMP 2.0 free photo editor.
- But in NX the image is pasted behind drafting lines.
- I want the image to appear in front of the drafting lines ?

 Like in MsWord I can:

  1. Bring image front (above font)
  2. Send image back (below font)

Butt why do you need the image inside of the drawing?
What is the purpose/case?

Re: Image in front(on top) of drawing ?

I ran into a similar situation recently. Someone handed over a jpeg of some ID markings that they wanted to show up in a shaded drafting view. My first inclination was to add the jpeg as a drafting image and position it over the drafting view. After about 10 minutes of fiddling with various settings I gave up and started formulating plan B. A "bring to front" or "send to back" function would have been perfect in my situation; unfortunately, I don't think it is possible in NX (if it is possible, it is not obvious or intuitive).

Don't know if you guys like this answer or not....

I found out that placing shaded views (- which are converted to flat images when plotting/pdfs) ontop of or below other stuff in NX does not exist.

But, i opened the pdf in Inkscape, and could re-order the images, top/bottom , there.

  Then save as pdf.

Not ideal but solved that specific case .
