Is there an NX command to find NX geometry entities by their names?

Experimenter

Is there a build-in NX command that can find and highlight a geometry entity (e.g. face, edge, point, etc) by its name or attributes if there are any?

The "Find Object" command in NX9 can only locate body objects and features by their names or attributes, but cannot find faces/edges/points/... by their names.

Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks

Turn on Name Selection the selection bar, then enter your name:

You can also turn on the attribute filter and select all.

Mark,

Thank you for your reply!

Can you please tell me how I can open the "Top Border Bar" popup menu, which contains the "Selection Group" menu item, as shown in your screenshot, to allow you to turn on the "Name Selection"?

I tried to use Right Mouse Button to launch the "Selection Group" menu bar, but there's no "Name Selection" command to check/uncheck (see screenshot attached).

BTW, I'm running the Modeling application in NX 9.

Thanks again!

The selection bar options, as with many areas on the UI, are under the small down triangle in the lower right corner. I added some arrows to my original picture.

Mark,

I found the small down triangle in the lower right corner of the top border bar, and turned on the "Name Selection" accordingly. After that, I am able to pick any face by entering its name. This is very helpful!

Thank you very much for your quick response and help!

Can't get it to work. How is it supposed to be used?
