Measure distance between datum axis with in an assembly

Hi,

 

i need to measure the distance between 2 Axis from different parts in an assembly.

 

Issue is, i've a sinario that the parts has morthan 200 axis with unique name.

 

its hard to select the axis by visually indentify every time.

 

is there a way in NX to select by choosing the names of Axis.

Hi @Prabhu,

Menu > Preferences > Visualization.

Under tab 'Names/Borders' enable 'Show Object Names' as per your need. 

This will show the object names in the GUI.

Other way if you are certain about the name of the object, enable 'Name Selection' filter in selection group. Enter the name of object in name selection filter, hit enter. Respective object will get highlighted in the GUI.

this is the functionalty available in creo. Please let me know the process to do it in NX.

@Prabhu, As Ganesh explained, there is a name-selection entry field within the selection bar. You can use this any time the system asks you to select an object and you have previously defined a name for that object. See movie below:

but the problem which i face is, i may have many axis with the same name since there will be more number of parts.

 

is there a way i can type the part name first and select the axis from the list.
