Mechanical Routing - Automatic Path Creation

In Mechanical Routing, is there a way to have NX automatically generate a routing path between two ports that will avoid all of the solid objects in between?  I saw a YouTube video that suggests that the functionality existed back in NX6, but I went through all of the Learning advantage tutorals, and I didn't see any way to identify solid objects as a keep-out zone.  I'm currently using NX9.

Are you referring to this video?

The tool being used is Quick Path.  There is no option to avoid solid bodies.

If you were watching a different video, post the URL so that we can advise you.

Yes. When he changed the number of bends (at 1:30), it placed the additional bend at the precise location that it would need to be to avoid the solid bodies. Perhaps he designed the geometry specifically to produce that effect.

More than likely the system determined where along the path the bends could be placed to prevent violations such as minimum straight length.
