Mechanical Routing-total length

Hi, how do you calculate the total  length of the stocks made with the Routing Application? I get the single lengths in the properties of each stock, but I would like to have the total; best would be to have an attribute, for Team Center integration.

I attach a prt file with the exampleof a small frame

(ps I cannot use assembly structure)

Hi @Laurus,

Each stock section is assigned a length characteristic that is read by the Routing Bill Of Materials.  You can edit the Routing BOM Settings to list either a summary or an itemized list of stock:

Does that help?

Yes!

Thank you very much. Now I will try to associate it to a part Attribute

one more question Ben:

can I see the Routing BOM in drafting? I see it listed in the Part Navigator Drawing node, but not on the sheet

Hi @Laurus,

While in the Drafting Application you'll need to customize your Ribbon UI and add the Routing Bill of Materials command to one of your groups.

Hint: Use the Search field to enter the command:

Note that unless you have UGII_UPDATE_ADD_ID_SYMBOLS_WITH_PLIST=0, you will have to delete the previously created Routing BOM in the Routing Application environment.

I recommend using the Resource bar with the tables palette.   Customize your Resource bar to use the Tables.pax or tables_tceng.pax in the ugii\table_files directory.   Create a table, configure as you want.  MB3, Save as Template, and it'll be added to the pax file and show up in the Resource bar like this.  Of course, you'll want to set this up as common to all users, and probably not let everyone make their own templates.

Then everyone can just drag and drop.
