NX 10 with SIMIT

Hi ,

I saw this video about creating a .txt file for importing signals to SIMIT. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE5UEFZFPL4
Its is made with MCD 8.5, and it seems that there are no more such buttons as ''actor'' or ''sensor'' in NX 10  or I cannot find them.
is there another way to make a similar kind of .txt import with NX 10 ? I know there is an option to make SIMIT signals with ''SMH signal mapping'' but thre must be another way to export them ?

Edit: Here is a way to export signals to SIMIT:

https://docs.plm.automation.siemens.com/tdoc/nx/10.0.3/nx_help/#uid:xid862630

but still there are no such menus inside the position controls or collision sensors called: ''SIMIT Model generation'' ?

Hi Makro,

this Video is from our Partner EDAG Engineering Solutions (http://www.edag.de/en/edag.html) former iSILOG (http://www.isilog.de/en/).

EDAG (iSILOG) have specialiced in virtual commisioning with MCD and Simit / WindMod.

The extra buttons you see in the Videos are part of their PLCConnect addon to MCD. They have also made some very useful extra Features for virtual commissioning with MCD: for example a function for automatic model generation in SIMIT out of MCD...

You should check it out!

Best regards.

Viktor

OK , thank you,

So I must create the signals and templates to SIMIT myself..

Another question about the Sequence editor in NX, there is an option for "Export PLCopen XML" in the editor so where can I make a use for this .xml file ? SIMIT does not recognize it. It says " invalid file format of file" when trying to open it with "Generic import" tool in SIMIT.

The PLCOpen XML is used to export the operations in Sequence Editor to a open Standard (PLCOpen) and to be imported later in your PLC specific programming tools e.g. for Siemens it would be Simatic Manager or TIA Portal.

It is not designed to be imported in SIMIT. Simit nomaly does not control your Simulation like a PLC does, that is still the job of your PLC (in the usual cases).

Viktor

Ok,
It would be helpful if there is any guide or help on how to import this kind of PLCOpen.xml (made with MCD) to TIA Portal or S7 manager. I have tried to search for information on this before but could not find any...  I think some even said it is not possible to import these to S7 programing tools

Hi All,

Please let me know if there is any guide or help on "How to import PLCopen.xml file (made from MCD) to TIA PORTAL V12 SIMATIC MANAGER.

Hey Makro,

I forgot to mention that you are able to export Signals with NX10 from MCD to SIMIT and of course you are right.

Just right click on the Signals Folder in MCD Physics Navigator and select "Export to SIMIT"

There is one thing to consider here, this works with SIMIT 8.0, starting with SIMIT 8.1 the import procedure in SIMIT changed and there is a header required in the exported signallist from MCD .

As an fix: you can just copy the header from an SHM Signallist exported from SIMIT and place it in the signallist text file from MCD, then it should work again..

The new Format is fixed for NX11.

As for the model generation in SIMIT: this will be supported soon with NX11 aswell; you can select the sensors, actuators and their associated templates for SIMIT and import this information for diagram generation in SIMIT.

Best regards,

Viktor
