Its been 13 years since using NX.
Been using SolidWorks.
I was sent a model and a drawing that were emailed out of TeamCenter.
Both files are now saved to a local folder.
When I open the drawing, it errors that it cannot locate the model that is now listed as a long, wierd file name.
Right clicking on the missing model only shows these options.
There isn't a Replace Component
I have also tried renaming the model to the wierd file name, but still get same error when opening drawing.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Looks like they just exported the named references out of the TC datasets, rather than using the NX option to "Export assembly out of TC" (which would fix all the component names, WAVE links, inter-part expressions, etc.).
The name you're see is the TC "mangled" name for the object.
You should be to just right-click -> "replace component" and select the model file (I think)?
Production: NX10.0.3.5 MP16/TC11.2
I'd rather be e-steamed than e-diseaseled
To perform component operations, make sure that you have the "assemblies" application toggled on (in the NX start menu, there should be a check mark next to the assemblies entry).
