NX Converts part from Inch to Metric

Pioneer

When I bring a part in that was modeled in Inches UG converts it to metric.   I have to use the command prompt to convert it back.

What is causing this and how do I stop it from happening?

Thanks!

"When I bring a part in that was modeled in Inches UG converts it to metric."

Where did the file originate (native NX file, parasolid, STEP file?) and what steps are you using to "bring it in" to NX (file open, file import, external translator, something else)?

I'm using "File Open." Part came from Solidworks.  Format was Parasolid X_T

You need to set your default seed part in the NX customer defaults to a template with inch units because the default is metric.

All parasolid files are metric. There is no default seed file when opening a parasolid file. If you want the file to be inches, start a new inch file (using your template of choice) then use "File -> import -> parasolid..." to import the parasolid into your new inch part. NX will convert the metric parasolid file to inches upon import.
