NX Expressions with limits

Hello Community,

 

I have a situation that to one dimension i have to define limits like upper and lower limits in modeling it self.

i.e may be in sketch or in feature parameter, is it possible or not..

 

Please let me know if any possibility is there or not.. hope make sence..

Yes, this can be done with preplanning. In the expression system create 4 values. my_value, which is the value you input, then a max and min values to control the limits. Lastly you need a driving_value that will be what is use to drive your feature. Use and if-then-else statement to control the driving value. I have included an image of what the expression look like.

Another option, although is not as smart as Scott's solution, as it will not stop the expression going outside the limits is to use a check.

Once you have created the feature, idetifiy the expression in the Expression Editor tool. Right mouse buttton over the expression line and select Add Check and select New Requirement.

Can here define a double sided comparision.

This will then create a check in the part navigotor. Will show as red cross if outside the limits.
