We recently upgraded to NX9 and a new option is in the STL import dialog that I can't find any info about -
STL Import, under "settings", Facet Body Type - "JT Facet Body" or "NX Facet Body".
What's the difference between the two? I can't find any documentation that describes a JT Facet body. These show up in the tree in history free mode as "Facet Body" (NX) or "Lightweight Body" (JT).
I also have to pick NX Facet Body in the drop down every time - the dialog does not remember my last choice and creating a "favorite" doesn't set the default. What gives?
JT Facet Body has better perfomace wih large data scans than NX Facet Body as it is lighter weight (sigle precision not double precision).
Thanks, Steve, that makes sense. Are there any functional differences once inside NX?
I believe that my source data is double precision and it's already cleaned to the level I want. Is there any way to force the dialog to default to NX Facet Body? There's no page for it in Customer Defaults...
