I would like to simulate plastic matte texure similar as below :
What is best way to achieve above noise bump texture in Iray material ?
Can it be done without bump map pic ?
Other rendering software has built in noise setting that can be turn on/off.
Till NX10 and before the I-ray advent) we had some inbuilt bumps pattern (required no image specification).. Quite handy i must say...surely I-ray might be having something simmilar but i am not able to catch hold of it till now.
Over to visulaization experts...
In NX 11, use the edit materail button to set the materail the way you would like to see it. This along witht he help page are a great help. Also remember to turn on the thumbnail preview when editing as it shows you what is going on. The help page a an example picture of of what all of the options look like.
I have follow your sugguestion ; below is my settings :
But the image is still don't have the bump depth effect :
Please try to play with these settings.. i have used the DIMPLE bump pattern (which i guess matches with the old NX10 bump settings)... i am not an expert on this subject but thought it might be worth sharing with you.
I am not sure if I picked the best combination to get your desired output. The best thing maybe to look at some of the other materials or options. My response was just to show you the menu and then within the link you can see the descriptions for many of the options in materail editing.
Thanks for the proposal. I am not sure if your images has bump depth as per below image.
Below is rendering from NX7.5 with bump texture which is easier acheived within the material
It is really possible within NX 11 iray ?
Your proposal required image mapping. I am looking for settings within the material editor.
The bump texture is much more easier to acheived in NX7.5 than NX11 ?
