Hello

Is it possible to open .STP-files directly from Windows file manager ? (By clicking it)

- Now I open NX 9.0 and then inside NX->File->Open->3Dmodel.STP.

Not possible, You have to use File > Open and select the 'File of Type'. Once you open and save, it will be saved with .prt extension then it is possible to open from windows explorer.

Other way create a new NX part using Blank template and import the STEP file.

It is possible with batch file.

copy code below and save as OpenSTP.bat

this will create the NX .prt file in the same location as the step file and then open it.

Either drag step file onto the batch file,

add it to right click for step files

or associate .stp file with the batch file

@echo off
:: if multiple NX versions installed uncomment
:: line below and edit to version folder required

:: set UGII_BASE_DIR=C:\UG\NX9

:: for NX10 and below UGII_ROOT_DIR is ugii
set UGII_ROOT_DIR=%UGII_BASE_DIR%\ugii

:: for NX11 UGII_ROOT_DIR is nxbin
:: set UGII_ROOT_DIR=%UGII_BASE_DIR%\nxbin

set PATH=%UGII_ROOT_DIR%;%PATH%
set STEP214UG_DIR=%UGII_BASE_DIR%\step214ug\
set ROSE_DB=%STEP214UG_DIR%
set ROSE=%STEP214UG_DIR%
if exist "%~dpn1.prt" (
 echo File "%~dpn1.prt" exists
 pause
 GOTO:EOF
)

call "%STEP214UG_DIR%\step214UG.exe" %1
"%~dpn1.prt"
