Question on PC environment variable

we are switching from NX 10 to NX 11 and the process is :

1) Delete NX 10 folder

2) Uninstall NX 10

3) Install NX 11

The UGII_BASE_DIR follow the new NX installation dir, but UGII_ROOT_DIR stay with the old NX 10.

Example :

UGII_BASE_DIR = C:\Siemens\NX11

UGII_ROOT_DIR = C:\Siemens\NX10\UGII\

I need to correct ?

Thank you...

Using NX 11 / RuleDesigner PDM

NX11 no longer uses the ENV variable UGII_ROOT_DIR

If you want to delete it, you should be able to without any problem

NX11 Release Notes: NX Central Runtime Directory

UGII_ROOT_DIR obsoleted

UGII_ROOT_DIR has historically been used to find the following in the UGII directory:

  • Libraries and executables

  • Configuration files

With the creation of the central runtime directory, there are two different locations for these files (nxbin and ugii ), so the concept of UGII_ROOT_DIR is obsoleted. Use the UGII_BASE_DIR variable instead when you write custom application code and scripts.

While the NX install no longer sets UGII_ROOT_DIR, the definition on the system will remain to support earlier releases. If your code or scripts rely on UGII_ROOT_DIR, modify them to ensure they work in NX 11.
