We have moved NX85 to NX10 recently. We have three teamcenter sites A,B,C. After the NX10 upgrade, everytime while we try to load nx data from Teamcenter Site A (replicated data of Site C) to NX10, it asks to "select the template'' for all levels of assembly/child components instead of automatically loading the components with the default template how it was saved earlier in NX85. If we proceed selecting "model/assembly" templates, data not loaded correctly. Same issue when we cancel to choose "model/assembly" templates.
Is there any load options need to be set to make it default behaviour for all nx10 users?
is there any old compatibility settings need to be set in NX10 to make it default behaviour for all NX10 users?
Did we miss some settings to be changed after NX10 is upgraded?
Normally when we see this dialog, either there is no UGPART named reference, or the user doesn't have read access to it.
- Can the user open the component part directly?
- What happens if they open all the components first, then open the assembly?
You might have to work with GTAC (send them a syslog) to see what the issue is.
But NX & TC have become MUCH more picky about opening assemblies over the years (NX4 to NX7.5 to NX10 in out case). We had to delay our NX7.5 rollout by 2-3 months to get a patch so assemblies that opened fine in NX4 would have > 50% chance of opening (at all!) in NX7.5 (originally we had > 80% failure rate in NX7.5. With patch that went to 40% failure rate. To this day, we have one support guy that ALL HE DOES is fix assemblies, that opened yesterday, so they will open today!)
Production: NX10.0.3.5 MP16/TC11.2
I'd rather be e-steamed than e-diseaseled
Thanks for your quik update, Ken.
As you said, we could try loading all components first, then assembly, but how many we can try becomes a question. Some parts does not ask for a template and loads fine. Not sure how this is going to end.
We have a temporary fix for this issue by trying a data sync (Through Import --> Remote option). As you said,
named reference gets populated after the import and nx data is loading fine without asking for "select template" option. But unfortunately it helps only for some of the parts. Not at assembly level import with entire BOM option enabled while we import. Everything keeps failing with some strange errors.
We thought data sync will solve all these problems. But not at all.
We are trying to get help from GTAC now.
Found a solution for this template issue. We need to set "Customer Defaults> Teamcenter Integration for NX > Parts Without NX Datasets > Display Seed part Dialog Box > No".
