hi

We use NX 10 togheter with Teamcenter 10.1.6.

There is a request to use different revisions in same assembly.

Is it possibile within NX to replace one occurance of an item with a different revision?

When using Replace function I get this alert that all occurences will be replaced..

You need to enable Multiple Revisions in your NX Customer Defaults:

But why do this?

How is purchasing (or supply chain) going to order "5 part ABC123 version A, and "one part ABC123 version 0"?

Seems like you could cause a LOT of confusion...

Hi

I as admin also was curious why our engineers wanted this but it's during the development phase they use it to be able to load previous revisions as references. we have A, B and C as major revisions and this is used in A and B. C which is production maturity level they will only use one revision in the assy.

One alternative that I find better is to generate a new part number if there are different proposals in the loop. This makes it more easy also in A and B phase,  as to order a prototype I find it better to use 1234/B01 and 1255/B03 instead of 1234/B01 and 1234/B03.

... so we will see if I can turn the tanker around.

Either way it's anyway good that they can load in another revision into the assembly as well so they were satisfied yesterday.
