I'm working with NX 8.5 and Teamcenter.
We are going the create a custom component library. In the end we want to have everyting in part families (for the fastners)
But in the beginning we are going to use the existing data.
For example a have a hex bolt from iso 4014 in 80 different items (this will be in the future members from the part family)
When i open the folder of the library, where all the different items are in, it will take some time before this is displayed.
Is this because of NX in combination with teamcenter?
is there a way to load the components fasters in the member select preview?
Solved! Go to Solution.
In general, it is not the combination of Teamcenter and NX that affects performance.
It is normal for the 'first' load of the reuse library to be slower than subsequent loads. NX caches some data during the 'first' load. If the reuse library is accessed again, the loads should be faster.
There have also been cases where the parts in the reuse library were saved in a previous version of NX. Conversion to the latest version during load takes additional time. Opening the files in the version of NX you are using, then saving them would speed up the load process.
Finally, I believe that improvements have been made to the way the reuse library is handled in newer versions of NX.
Thanks for the respons!
That makes things clear.
We are preparing to upgrade to NX11 so i hope that the speed there is better.
If you are going to NX 11.0, you might also want to have a look at indexing your reuse library.
There is more to it, but have a quick look at this FAQ:
I have recently installed the index search on my own machine.
index library works for search reuse components, not on open or expand folder library in the resource bar.
If I remember it correctly, I believe from NX 11.0 it also does something for browsing the folders. But I could be slightly of here:
