SELECT ALL INSTANCES OF A PART IN AN ASSEMBLY AND SUBASSEMBLIES

Is it possible to select all instances even if they are in different subassemblies in order to replace them?

I would follow:

Find Components->Click on a part->OK

On the Assembly Navigator area, RMB and select “Expand to selected”

On top of a highlighted component, RMB and select “Replace Component…”

Menu > Assemblies > Context Control > Find Components...

There you can use the various options available. Most easy is 'From List' tab, select the required component and hit OK. It will select and highlight all the instances in ASN and UI.

Another way is to use 'Name Selection' filter from Selection group.

Thank you all. It will save me a lot of time when importing assemblies to TC and I want to replace some newly imported screws, nuts... by the ones I already have in the database.

Or, you could change the import option for those parts to "use existing" and specify which part in the database to use, thus avoiding the need to replace components later...

I think I cant. The id is the key field, is numeric and automatic and do not match the name of the file.
