I have a drawing that I have painstakingly laid out with all the views, notes and border notes requested by *my superiors*. I would now like to save this drawing as a template that I can use for creating all my new drawings.
I have been searching for some good step-by-step instructions, but to no avail. I did get as far as creating a template and modifying the .pax file to include the new templates, but I think the tutorial I was reading was for a different version of NX (we're on NX8.5) and I couldn't quite get it to work.
If anyone can help me or point me in the right direction of a tutorial to do this, I'll be very grateful. Also feel free to advise on the limitations of what I'm trying to do (e.g. which view types you can save in a template, if at all?).
1. When saving new drawing templates using 'Tools-->Drawing Format-->Mark as Template' and selecting the 'Mark as Template and Update PAX File' option, make sure to select the correct PAX file using the Browse command. 2. Save the drawing template file in the same directory as the existing PAX file. Typically this is in the %UGII_BASE_DIR%\UGII\TEMPLATES directory. NOTE: The template file needs to be in the same directory as the PAX file. If the template file is in an alternate location, the directory path must be used in the PAX file to completely define the template's location.
