Hello everyone!

Does anyone uses mechanical or electrical routings with the assembly arrangements?

I tried to find the ways to make routings adapt to arrangements but so far I have not been succsessful.

I think I might use alternative representations and suppress/unsuppress them for the given arrangement, but that would probably only work well with hoses, and not so well with wiring harness!

Does anyone use any proven workarounds or methods?

Not sure about Electrical Wire Harness as never used it, but to make flexible hoses work with Arrangements they would have to be Deformable. Check out the video from PhoenxPLM (lots of good videos) https://vimeo.com/81454799

Hello! I tired using deformable hose, but had no success. I think NX has limitations when it comes to interoperation between arrangements and deformations. At what timestamp in the video is the deformable hose example?

Arrangements are driven by Assembly Constraints so as long as your Deformable Hose is constrained It should drive.(your connectors have to be Qualified and added to hose ends)

In the video he is not using arrangements. Man Happy That way - by purely moving the component - the routing will adapt without problems. The problem is with using the arrangements! That way we have many limitations, and deformable part is not an answer. Hence my original question.

Hi

 

You can make Arrangement Specific assembly Constraint.

(And Angle & Distance Constraint can have different values for each Arrangement.)

And RCP & its segment is driven by assembly Constraint.

 

For example,

You can attach end of routing path to component by Touch constraint.

If you make two Touch constraints for 1 RCP (end of routing path) to another components,

you can control end of the path by suppressing Arrangement Specific constraint.

you can control end of the path by suppressing Arrangement Specific constraint.

 

Just tried it. It doesn't work. Even if orignal contraints are suppressed, adding new constraints does not control end of path position. The new contraint simply becomes red. Do you have a working example that you can show?

I had met same problem my 1st try.

-Change status of 2 Touch constraint to Specific for All Arrangement.

 (Do not keep Shared Status for any arrangement.)
