I had put a components in an assembly as arrays. I am trying to delete all instances and it won't let me delete them with the following error. Any ideas? Thanks
The following component could not be deleted
"part number" Attempt to delete and array master component failed.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I figured I was missing something. Would not have looked for it there for sure! I figured it would have been in the right click menu. Thank you sir!
We just updated to NX 11. Where did this command go?
From the Assembly Navigator, you can delete the master array from the Component Patterns node by right clicking the pattern (LinearPattern, CircularPattern) and choosing Delete.
In my assembly, the "Delete Array" button on the "Display Component Arrays" dialog is greyed out.
Are there any other ways to delete the array and component?
Clarification: I am using NX8.5
I assume you're using a version of NX earlier that NX 9. I've tried various ways to get the Delete Array option to be greyed out (component suppression, unloaded masters, nested arrays, to mention a few), but I can't reproduce the issue, nor do we have any records suggesting that anyone has reported this to GTAC in the past. In one case Edit Parameters was greyed out, but that was because an instance array was controlling the component array. It almost seems like there might be some higher level influence that's controlling your array.
Did you try "File > Utilities > Part Cleanup" with all Moderate Cleanup Actions checked?
If you can't upload your parts here (in a zip file), may I suggest that you open an IR with GTAC and have them review the part?
