Unable to use split bodies

Experimenter
Experimenter

I needed to cut the target body with a tool, and decided to use the split body operation, but I got the error: "The tool and target do not form a complete intersection or have a touch condition which will result in a region with zero wall thickness". Then, I tried to make a intersection between the two bodies, and the intersection was completed successfully, which made me very confused.

Can anyone help me to find a solution for this problem?

Thank you in advance

It is not impossible that a Subtract fails when an Intersection works.

Picture a cylinder inside a box where the diameter of the cylinder is the same as the box width, resulting in a "just touch" condition. The cut produces zero thickness just touching wedges, where the intersection does not.
