The Help doc mentions two environment variables UGII_UNITS_WRITE_FILE, and UGII_UNITS_DEFINED_FILE, so I think I must either edit the env file, which I can not, or set them as system variable, which I can not. Am I wrong?

If you start NX using a BAT file you can set whatever environment variables you like in there. These will override whatever NX finds in it's ENV files.

@Laurus,

You might be able to set the environment variable from the Windows user level versus system level. In Win7, it's Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change my environment variables. There should be two different areas where environment variables can be entered with the uppermost area being the user environment variables which will only affect your account and no others.

But if you're using templates or start parts, by all means go that route if you feel it's easier.

ok, thanks a lot to everybody.  I will try and decide wether to edit the template or to set the variables in the bat file
