Use a part to pattern along contour of another part

Creator

Hello, everyone, sorry for so frequent seeking answers here.

But I really want to know something a little unique, here is the thing,

I want to make a pattern, and I add two exact the same parts into assembly, and

what I want to do is to make the part do the pattern "along" the contour of another one.

Can NX 10 work this out ? Anyone has any ideas about this?

Thank you so much.

What kind of part (2X) do you want to pattern?

@mike_fdo
Thank you.
But what I want to pattern is part(a model) instead of feature.

OKay, here's the example.  I didn't finish the whole image, but it's pretty much like this,

imagine the Ellipse is a 1-mm sheetmetal, and Arrow is another 1-mm sheetmetal, so they are exactly two different models, AND I want to make Ellipse model pattern along the contour of Arrow model. Hope there's a way for solving this out. THX!

Hi @knockitover,

Have you looked at Create an along path patterned component?

Check this out!

In the Assembly part; add / delete / modify following sketch's points and also try editing any other sketches as well to check parametric behaviour!
