Using an expression in Curve Text

Honored Contributor
Honored Contributor

User wants to create an associative measure, and then reference the p# that creates, to engrave text on the part.

The associative measure is created, and the p# has a number type.  But when you go to Curve, Text, check the Reference Text box, so that Select Expression" becomes available, and click that, the measure p# is not available.  it seems, only string type expressions are listed.  Unlike in drafting, where you can select any expression, and have it's value displayed in a note.

I've tried using an intermediate expression, trying to create an expression named Bob, formula is the measured p#, but as soon as I change it to a string type, it fails.

Is this possible?

Hi @DaveK ,

It can be done with 'stringvalue' function.

Thanks,

Of course it has to be different, and more complex than in drafting, lol
