Hi there,

Is there a way to take the View Scale instead Sheet Scale?

I've been using that syntax to take it:

SCALE <W@$SH_SHEET_SCALE_NUMERATOR>:<W@$SH_SHEET_SCALE_DENOMINATOR>

But all times that I place the view I need to edit Sheet Scale.

Do you NEVER place 2 views on a sheet at different scales?

Note if you edit the sheet scale, ALL the view scales will be changed to match the sheet scale

Hi @Ken_A

I do, but every times that I place views I need to change Sheet Scale to take it automatically in title block.

OK...

What do you want on the title block in this case:

- Open a new drawing & sheet

- place a view at 1:1 scale

- place 2 projected views at 1:1 scale

- place a detailed view at 2:1 scale

Seems to me you should have 1:1 in the title block, and call out the scale on the detailed view.

Personally, I hate the drawing sheet scale.  I prefer to have the scale of the view, under the view, so the user of the drawing sees it.

@Ken_A

That's ok when you can place 1:1 scale views, but on practice you don't have it.

OK, let me change my example.

- Open a new drawing & sheet

- place a view at 1:10 scale

- place 2 projected views at 1:10 scale

- place a detailed view at 1:5 scale

Seems to me you should have 1:10 in the title block, and call out the scale on the detailed view.

If (per what I think you're asking for) the scale in the titleblock should change to 1:5, now you have 3 views you have to put the "SCALE: 1 : 10" label on

To continue...

To me, the scale on the title block should match the scale of the majority of the views.

Then any "other scale" views need to be labelled.

If you have the same number of views in 2 different scales, then you pick one for the title block & label the others.

If you want to change the scale of a bunch of views (e.g. "ooops the part just grew too big to fit on the sheet") then change the sheet scale & all the views will update to the new scale (you may then have to go back & reset a detailed view scale)

If this isn't what you're talking about, please post an example like mine describing the desired behavior

Dave - just leave it off the title block (probably not your decisiion) ;-)

...and what if I plot the drawing at 1/2 scale, then what should the drawing and view scales read?  or worse yet, I print the drawing and it just fits it to the sheet at some random scale?   I think this is why many drawing formats are labled, "Do not scale" Smiley Happy

Hi @Ken_A

"To me, the scale on the title block should match the scale of the majority of the views."

It is what I want to do automatically. Do your NX has that behavior?
